He is an expert in using the art of deception by weaving the truth with half truths, and lies with lies of omission. This helps to create his political spin and the illusion of truth.

Instead of outright lying, he simply uses ambiguous phrases to plant the false idea into one’s mind. The important part is that he has to make the phrase ambiguous enough so that it can be plausibly interpreted as the truth.

For example, he might say “the Delimara power station is progressing at a rapid pace and will be ready by the summer”

But what he doesn’t say is that only half of the station will be ready by the summer and that it has not progressed at a rapid pace at all because it should have been ready in March 2015.

And if his audience is gullible enough…he can convince them that they misunderstood his meaning and he didn’t actually lie at all. And therein lies his strength.
