In reply to Chris. The European Parliament is, was, will always be a circus. It is a rubberstamping parliament with no power to propose legislation, which is the sole prerogative of the Commission. No different from the People's Congress of the USSR rubberstamping the Politburo's (Commission) decisions in conjunction with the Supreme Soviet (EU Council).

A very interesting post, and astute. The fact that this comment has been made by an EPP spokesperson implies that the whole charge is in danger of becoming part of the political circus with left wingers either abstaining or defending the indefensible and giving Konrad Mizzi some level of international support.
