That’s probably why he misuses the expression Stockholm Syndrome. He thinks it means “advocating severe punishment and ill will to get your own way”.

In reply to Chris Camilleri. It's actually very simple. The EU will not be making things difficult for the UK because of some Machiavellian plot. It will simply be protecting its interests which have now diverged from those of the UK. For it to do any less would be a failure of its duty to the rest of the member states, including Malta.

Not only that. We have encouraged to an unreasonable extent the concept of ‘equality’ in everything.

We tend to believe that everyone is equally knowledgeable about everything, equally eligible to have his or her informed opinion notwithstanding the lack of knowledge, equally capable of analysing data and therefore equally capable at arriving at the right decisions, when in fact all this is fiction.

Sounds like a bad case of Stockholm syndrome: advocating severe punishment and ill will to get your own way and maintain enough fear to keep others in line. Its no wonder Europhiles are hoping the British suffer. Creepy and nasty! With so much bitterness, one could make a fortune selling British-themed voodoo dolls for haters to vent their frustrations.

It’s clear that the EU must make things difficult for the UK as a deterrent to others thinking that leaving is an option.

Whereas up to now the threat of the UK leaving meant it was negotiating from a position of strength, it is now negotiating from a position of great weakness.

Even if there were a snap election tomorrow and it were to be won, by a landslide, by a party making “remain” the cornerstone of its manifesto, the damage has been done.

It is incredible how stupid people are when it comes to voting.
