The PM has not yet woken up to the fact that people, even in Malta, are not treating Brexit as ‘foreign news’ (unless they are particularly self-involved) but feel directly involved and affected. And they are concerned and interested.

I’ve been running Brexit stories on this website since Friday, and traffic is high and people are coming in to comment who I have never seen commenting before.

Why is Simon Busuttil waging a Twitter war on an international platform (@EPP)?

He should leave all that to one of the MEPs. In bringing attention to Muscat he makes him relevant.

Muscat obviously thinks he understands the lie of the land and that Europeans have absolutely no interest in when the UK will activate Article 50.

Of course they do. That’s why it’s all over the front pages of every European newspaper and why many large businesses (which employ many Europeans) are on tenterhooks.

The fact is Art 50 is the next step and needs to be taken as soon as possible, to shorten the instability that is resulting from Brexit. Uncertainty will affect business and hence all our lives. Meaning that this is very relevant for all of us.

Granted that the EU needs to listen and understand its people now as a result of Brexit. Note I use listen and not “hear”. But first things first. Prioritising dictates the handling of Article 50 first. (Does this really need explaining?
