Brand Britain is finished, I’m afraid. There is no recovery from this. The brand was five decades in the making (liberal, progressive, cool, hip, tolerant, outward looking) and was smashed in 24 hours.

It was the Mods who turned the relatively unknown Lambretta into an icon. Lambretta remains closely associated with the underground, Brighton and an alternative to the mainstream Vespa.
