No one is comparing the two. I am saying that many Maltese will use Brexit to fuel their arguments irrespective of the stupidity of the rationale.

Thank you for saying you agree, but these are facts not matters of opinion. It is a mathematically proven fact that you maximise benefit for the members of a group if all members act to maximise benefit for the group as a whole.

The Coal and Steel Union was an economic agreement, yes, but its purpose was political. Countries that share resources in recognition of their interdependency do not go to war. That Union evolved into what, until yesterday, was the most successful peace project the world has ever known.
