“The fact is that none of you can do anything about the outcome of the referendum here and that is what is sticking in your gullets.” Wow and wow again! I see we really have a Little Englander in our midst.

Don’t worry, I will more than get on with it. The referendum result has very little impact on my life (if any at all). I have no plans to work or study there, at my age, I am simply waiting to retire.

But what does really upset me is that a country which i respected for being enlightened has proved to have as many liars for politicians, as many bigoted racists as Malta. Yes I have lost my personal gold standard. And yes that does upset me.

You left Malta out. It is general knowledge how politically corrupt Malta is. Many Maltese politicians are internationally famous for their corrupt practices.

As for the race card, having lived in Malta for many years I know how racist Maltese can be. The fact is that none of you can do anything about the outcome of the referendum here and that is what is sticking in your gullets.

However, do not be surprised that Joey will be going down the referendum road. Most people in Malta voted to join the EU to reduce political corruption and it hasn’t. On the contrary it continues to increase.

If it happens that it was Malta leaving the EU NO ONE WOULD HAVE TAKEN ANY NOTICE. Get over it.

I heard some of the pre-referendum debates. Some comments made by the Leave camp on countries like Greece and Poland were demeaning and patronising. The vote is a slap on the face of other EU states and that includes Malta.

The Commonwealth is mostly symbolic and for the British, it serves little purpose other than to remind them of their former colonial power. I know few will agree with me on this but if Britain is not ready to deal with us as equals in the EU than we should not go along with the symbolism of the Commonwealth. Malta should consider leaving the Commonwealth.

With Brexit, much of the goodwill Britain had will be gone in time. Or as Ms. Caruana Galizia said in another post – Brand Britain has turned toxic.

Really? Perhaps you may want to explain further. More corrupt than the Greek government, then the Italian, not to mention the Russian and United States government?

As to playing race card. We don’t have to play the race cards. British racists are doing it for us.

Well actually, at this rate I’m thinking that the British won’t be able to travel anywhere in Europe without being greeted by sarcastic remarks and the occasional placard saying the equivalent of BRITISH GO HOME.
