Noel, my statement is not an opinion. It’s based on the evidence by YouGov. Your example of university educated business people voting “remain” also presents anecdotal evidence to support that statement. I don’t know whether international perspective is an influencing factor. Might be.

The retired and nearly retired have paid taxes and pension contributions all their lives. It was their savings that were mismanaged and spent by a corrupt government that decided to run the pension pits line a pyramid scheme.

This is why current generations are now paying the older generations pensions basically because the people who are now retired and had made all the payments found their funds had been spent elsewhere. Totally dishonest and seems to happen in most countries now.

There is also a strong positive correlation between level of education and those voting to remain. The higher the level of education the more likely the person would be to vote to remain within the EU.

The news we woke up to today is sad beyond words. Not only does it fuel the already worrying rise of far-right parties and their likie, but it does lead many amongst us to question whether a “free for all” democracy is sustainable or wise in the long term.
