Keep in mind that huge upheavals such as this are always opportunities for professional investors and currency traders to make a mint off the amateurs. The same firms warning of Brexit catastrophe are most likely the ones buying cheaply as the panicking ameteurs (who are panicking because of the professionals’ scaremongering) sell at below market value.

I think you have missed the essential point that the European Union is not about prosperity but primarily about peace and unity. Prosperity is a by-product of that.

I grew up in a hideously divided Europe and I wouldn’t like to live there again, with or without an Iron Curtain, so no thank you.

But insist that normal in a period of temporary uncertainty? Stock holders will dump sterling as an obvious reaction, especially after a historic event of this magnitude.

This does not mean that the sterling has weakened, it simply means that supply exceeds demand for the currency but things will fall into place.

BBC is a true reflection of how a national broadcaster should act – factual and with correct dose of sensationalism. After all it is a 52% – 48% result and the sentiment of both sides of the Brexit vote is to be respected. Something which the local national broadcaster has never achieved in my lifetime of over 50 years.
