It is not against the law to take pictures of people but it is against the law to publish pictures of private persons without their consent.

I think the ‘marrying Jesus’ results from confusion with nuns: when they take their vows they are ‘brides of Christ’.

There’s no such thing as a “first holy communion” dress. The symbolism, as I’ve been taught, is that they’re “marrying Jesus”. So yes, they’re actually made to dress up as child brides. It’s so twisted.

I find this custom of dressing up girls of 10 as brides so weird and perverse. I’m aware there’s a traditional aspect to it, but to an outsider it just looks so wrong.
