I personally will not make a certainty of other people’s decisions. Look at those who voted Labour. They were all so sure that Labour would change Malta for the better, which brings us to the golden-egg-laying goose.

It is more like the rotten apple in the basket as all we have seen so far is loads of shady characters and no sign of the money.

The claim that Fenech Adami made himself President really annoys me. It was PM’s Gonzi’s decision and I am sure he had his reasons for it. Fenech Adami often spoke about his reluctance to accept and there is no reason not to believe him.

Your suggestion to abolish the office of the President is weird. What do we do? Go back to having Governor appointed by the Queen? Politically that is a non-starter so what’s the point of suggesting it?

The de facto Maltese head of state carries personal and political baggage that would automatically exclude her from holding her current office in any democratic and self-respecting country worldwide.

It is incumbent on her to prove otherwise, which is no mean feat. It is not impossible but almost.
