Not so. It is class hatred and it was there all along. Mintoff just used it to his advantage. Mintoff wasn’t around when the mob set fire to flour mills and ransacked homes and shops in Valletta on 7 June 1919.

Does he have a bare inkling of what North Korea and China stand for? I doubt whether he knows anything about democracy, the right to a free press and the rest of it.

People like him – and unfortunately even certain people with a tertiary education reason as he does. They are fed hatred and ignorance and they thrive on it.

The Labour faction – in Malta at least- thrives on the Them v Us mentality. Their hatred and I mean HATRED, was entrenched from Mintoff’s time followed by the rest of the Labour PMs. The present encumbent – does it differently. He does it with a smirk.
