And no, the consequences of this are most definitely not temporary. No consequences are ever temporary – they are always permanent. The worst thing you have done with your vote is reduce England to an international laughing-stock – that is most definitely permanent.

This is only temporary and expected. The majority decided it was worth swallowing the medicine to leave. We are a confident nation and voted for what we believe in. We know we are capable of getting on with the job and we will be successful.

This result just proves how influential Britain is that our decision has had an international effect on all the stock exchanges and the main currencies, especially the Euro.

The problem is too many people took notice of the polls and the betting odds and not enough listened to the people at ground level.

I’m sorry if the result does not agree with your agenda but we didn’t vote for Malta’s benefit. You can say what you like but it will not make any difference, we will prevail.

This means that vote which got Malta into the EU was the one in the general election after the referendum, and NOT the referendum vote, which had by then been superseded.

If you think running a business in the EU obstructs you with red tape, I suggest you speak to people in Malta (or Britain) who had to run a business before EU membership, and deal with tariffs, fluctuating exchange rates, trade barriers, customs inspections, sheaves of import/export documentation, obstructions to cargo and the rest.

Small businesses operate largely within their respective member states. The single market suits mostly the big corporations, and with TTIP, currently being negotiated in secret by the European Soviet Union, the global corporations will have a field day.

We have no say in all of this. Malta is just another EU province. Laws and regulations come from upstairs seemingly out of nowhere for the Metsolas and the Muscats to rubberstamp into national legislation.
