In reply to ddd. As has been amply demonstrated, they are not "capable to decide". The result of this referendum vote has been the beginning of disaster for Britain. And Malta's own referendum on joining nearly brought disaster on us, permanently, thanks to the stupidity and irresponsibility of Joseph Muscat and Alfred Sant. Where would Malta be now had all those people who voted against joining got their way? Would we have been better off than we are now? Obviously not. So it follows that the people can't decide on matters such as these, and that is precisely why their responsibilities are delegated in a parliamentary democracy. Referendums have no place in a democracy. They are presented as democratic, but in reality they are little more than mob rule.

Secondly, we do not know if it is true. Thirdly, if it is true, they continue to prove their point to leave. Fourthly, the Remain campaign was also full of lies.

Departing from the point that the EU is sacrosanct and has to be adhered to at all cost, as was the theme here from day one, is a false argument, which will never win. That is truly fascism, not voting to have have ‘some’ control over boarders. If people were able and called to vote for membership in 1973, they are also capable to decide whether to stay or not.
