There ought to be a formal standardised “veracity scale” established: the lower parametre would be pure invention, the uppermost factual truths.

Ranging between these, one would establish and graguate: what is gossip, what is unsubstantiated etc. Conflicting truths should be listed side by side, until additional or new information renders one prevalent over the other.

All data should be available, and where data is missing, this bit too needs to be listed.

The £350 million a week for the NHS was squandered by the Chancellor only a week after the vote.

His first measure was to declare a reduction in corporation tax from 20% to 15% to keep all the foreign companies in the UK. A nice 25% tax reduction and therefore less receipts for the Treasury.

The total corporation tax received by the Treasury in 2014-15 was £43 billion.
