This is not the first time that Nigel Farage resigned. And it made no difference.

Hopefully, the British government, led by a new prime minister, will invite him to join the Brexit negotiating team, which is not only plausible, but sensible, given that he singlehandedly forced Cameron into a corner, causing the Brexit vote to follow.
