Let’s hope that Malta’s self-styled patriotic leaders draw the lessons to be learned from the British experience.

The fact that we are two very different peoples should not blind us to the universality of our human condition and the harsh realities of history which have a tendency to come back to haunt humanity, maybe not with the same ferociousness but surely with the same disruptive social and economic consequences.
