Joseph Muscat is well integrated into Maltese society. Look at the the huge majority of votes he reaped as a reward.

Another well-integrated individual elected to high office in local government is Natius Farrugia. Integration is the key to success.

The reality is that we have abandoned God and yet we commit evil in the name of God.

They can attack the problem at source – why is terrorism on the rise? why is IS so strong? What can they do to prevent youngsters from joining terrorist movements? If they fail, the future looks terrifying.

Secondly, much as I’m in favour of free media and the ¨right to know¨, there is way too much coverage of terrorist attacks (very often a voyeuristic coverage, I feel). It comes coupled with headlines such as “the biggest tragedy in the history of Nice¨, ¨thousands of people mourn their dead¨ ¨French Minister deeply saddened¨, etc.

This amounts to one thing: the West playing in the hands of the terrorists. You can just imagine terrorists sitting there thinking ¨ha, ha, we have them exactly where we wanted them to be – mission accomplished. Where next?¨

Back then, European terrorism was financed by Muammar Gaddafi’s regime and the terrorists were ethnic Europeans trained in Libya. Now, it’s financed by others and the terrorists are Europeans of North African/Middle Eastern extraction. Same difference.

The ‘powers-that-be’ can no more pre-empt or prevent somebody driving a truck over pedestrians at peak promenade hour than they can pre-empt or prevent a student walking onto a college campus with a submachine gun and mowing down fellow students and staff. It’s exactly the same thing, with exactly the same psychology at work. Only the justification is different.
