I would be tempted to say that it is Christians who delight in the desecration of the Koran, but not being a bigot I know that only an insignificant minority of “Christians” would.

Please, both of you, don’t let this devolve into a tit-for-tat exchange. I’m going to delete all further comments that are directly addressed to each other. This is an open thread so let’s keep the conversation of general interest and not a ‘private exchange’.

Atheists may criticize religion, they do not desecrate it or offend it for the sake of offending.

And as far as I know, there were no violent acts of retaliation, which gives the lie to the widespread belief that all Muslims are violent fanatics.

I never advocated screaming and shouting about anything. In this particular case I expected the same concern, at least, for the murder of a Catholic priest while saying Mass as that shown for the desecration of a book that is holy for one religion.
