The only thing that doesn’t surprise me in all this Brexit business is how nobody has pointed-out just how close to disaster Malta came in 2003 when a sizeable minority voted ‘No’ to EU entry, thus doing their best to ensure that the EU’s many rights and privileges would never become ours, led by Muscat. Were that fact to be remembered, Muscat would be toast.

I’d like to see you taking a similar stance if there’s a popular vote to strip UK citizens of their right of access to education after the age of 16. What will you say – that Gladys from Clacton, 70, has every right to vote to stop others from going to sixth form college and university, or on to further training?

That is exactly what is happening here. Your arguments don’t wash – precisely because you focus solely on the economic aspect, just as Cameron did. EU membership is not about that.
