And OF COURSE European Commissioners are not elected. Imagine if they were. It would be the equivalent of electing, by popular vote, the governor of a central bank or a state authority. But you probably think Mark Carney was elected, too – you know, from Canada.

Yes, because they were informed – correctly – that if Scotland broke away from the UK, it couldn’t take EU membership with it in its own right, and the new independent state of Scotland would have to apply for membership.

The key bit of information to come out of the Scottish referendum is that the Scots prize their EU citizenship more highly than they do independence from the UK. But now that they are going to be STRIPPED of their EU citizenship anyway, the primary reason for clinging to the UK is gone.

But you demonstrate a lack of understanding of the Scottish situation. Scotland is not united on this issue. Far from it in fact. As recently as August 2014 the Scots voted against independence.

Rosa, rules are always required for any given thing in life usually based on the experiences of others before us and sometimes they need changing, that’s why we vote in a government of our choosing in a democracy. The Brussels commission were NEVER elected and they are without experience of democracy, but they dictate what THEY think is right for all of us, for example currently they are reviewing quotas for the dispersal of the huge immigrant problem they have brought on themselves. So what happens if THEY decide we have to take 10,000, how does that work. Yes most certainly British people resent being told what to do by unelected bureaucrats, and to reject another accusation most British prefer working with the Germans as their systems work.

Some people are just unfit to live with others. It’s as simple as that. They spend their lives in familiar surroundings, usually with people they can control, and when they are forced to leave familiar territory, they suffer a meltdown.
