That’s just it: the United Kingdom was a model in several ways for many nations and to many individuals. But it has just publicly and without any sense of shame promoted the person jointly responsible for a fraudulent Brexit campaign to Foreign Minister.

It’s not a case of let’s wait and see what the strategy is perhaps the end justifies the means. The means selected are doubly wrong. Britain has already exited those standards.

I have to say, Ayrault – the French Minister for Foreign Affairs – probably made his best declaration to date in being the only international politician to call Boris Johnson a liar and to request the UK to provide a negotiation counterpart who is respectable and worthy of the position.

Ayrault is from Nantes. Nantes -within France – is known as the gates of Brittany, home to that same Celtic “lot” known for not mincing their words.

In other words the Treasury is asking banks to lie, albeit by omission.

The UK is looking more and more like Muscat’s Malta with every day that passes.
