Some people get paid for sex. Glenn Bedingfield gets paid from the public purse to have a mid-life crisis and cope with long-term depression. A national downer-whore. A public servant paid to be a loser.

And he’s still there. Where are the public protests. Where is the mass scorn? Where are the avukati? Where is the Law Commissioner?

In reply to Joseph Barbara. I doubt that will ever happen. It is much easier for a society to decline than it is to rebuild itself. As another reader wrote, hamallagni is the new standard of behaviour. More and more you see people behaving like true troglodytes. The rest of Malta is deeply unhappy, and the under-40s are beginning to talk about seeking opportunities to live and work abroad.
