Aside from the few who are actually AD activists, AD simply draws a small protest vote. The same will happen with the PD.

So, when you strike out with the message that it’s OK to vote No. 1 for the PN and No. 2 for AD or the PD, YOU ARE ACTUALLY ENCOURAGING PEOPLE WHO WEREN’T PLANNING ON VOTING AD OR PD TO GO AHEAD AND DO SO.

As things stand, there are two options for the next election, either you have Simon Busuttil or you end up by default with Muscat as your prime minister.

If you don’t want Muscat, you MUST vote for Simon’s party candidates.

You can’t vote for an AD or DP candidate and expect Muscat’s Looting Party to lose the election.

If the opposition is fragmented Muscat will end up as our next prime minister, and things will get even worse for all of us…thanks to the cross party voters.

I also found myself explaining the apparently novel concept of opportunity cost, i.e.:

1. What do you get by voting No. 1/No. 2 for AD? Nothing.

2. What do you risk losing by voting No. 1/No. 2 for AD? EU membership.

And speaking of hogwash, after all his talk of principles and his prancing grimly on the moral high ground, Vassallo was off like a shot to work for one of the most corrupt politicians ever in Maltese and European Commission history: John Dalli.

A political party is what it says on the tin: it’s a political party. Different political parties are different political parties. That is exactly why they are different and distinct. If they were not different and distinct, they would be the same political party. But they are not.

In general elections, you vote for political parties, not MOVEMENTS.
