Also, let’s not forget the promise of anonymity. Cash stashed under your bed is definitely yours, but a random Bitcoin account? All anonymous? Who knows whom it belongs to. Bitcoin, as someone on here pointed out, is used a lot on the dark web. What is the dark web for? Exactly!

It can get stolen, Bitcoin can’t. It is much safer. I can see why it would be the currency of choice for someone looking to keep things secret.

Respect. I grew up surrounded by people like that, who if they were still alive would be 85 + years old. Gone are the days of mainframes and punch cards. They would freak if they saw a smart phone with more processing power than they had on two floors that took 14 hours just to initialise.
