The whole process has been diluted to the point that an ID card application is sufficient. Rent a property first, pay Identity Malta the whole package price and one is Maltese the moment an ID card number has been allocated on the day of application.

The whole process is so efficient as to have removed all obstacles and undue formalities.

The last sentence in this article sums up the whole argument. When you go on the market it is difficult to choose your clients.

I do not know this client for Maltese citizenship at all, but we have already seen cases where the promised due process of examining such clients have proved to be defective.

Incidentally, how does one measure “talent”, the main qualification sought in clients for Maltese citizenship? It seems that bank balances are the only acceptable criteria.
