I totally disagree, for whatever reason, that babies that age should should be dragged along to one’s work place be it with the mother or the father. What if the baby starts crying or being disruptive during a speech for example? And why not avail herself of the crèche services? I think it’s a downright rude and tasteless publicity stunt. Surely she can afford a nanny, and in any case there’s the crèche at the European Parliament.

Why doesn’t she put pressure on her socialist government to provide more family-friendly measures? Its easy to post photos showing that you are somehow privileged when normal parents are struggling with family friendly measures which are only on paper.

Hear hear. I suppose she thinks it’s hip to speak in the European Parliament while your child sits on your lap and eats. Babies have no place at work, no matter how progressive one thinks she is.
