I think you need a lesson in basic logic. The fact that all/most people infected with HIV are gay men does not mean that all gay men are infected with HIV.

The standard practice is to screen the blood before it is used, anyway. That has been done since all haemophiliacs in Malta contracted HIV through blood transfusions in the 1980s.

The problem here isn’t promiscuity, but the face that gays use less protection than straight men, and this fact together with chem-sex and Grindr is an explosive mix as one may see from the fact that this year, 90% of new HIV cases relate to gay men.

I know straight women who are or have been the equivalent of the village bicycle. I know gay men who never sleep with anyone at all. I know gay men who have been monogamous for years. And I know straight men who, despite being married, whore around like there’s no tomorrow.

And if you bother to ask specialists in the field – those who run the Health Department’s STD clinic, for example – you’ll discover that teenagers and people in their 20s, gay or straight, male or female – are promiscuous.
