What happens when the tanker needs to be dry-docked?

So as to keep its sea worthiness certificate this should happen at least ever 5/6 years if my memory serves me well

Do you remember the Red China dock built by Mintoff in the 70s and was described as a white elephant because it was never used for its declared purpose of building supertankers?

The LNG tanker, the baby conceived by Joseph Muscat, Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi is another white elephant as its costs are out of proportion for its usefulness.

Most of the information in the newspapers is incorrect. This LNG tanker was built in 1985 by MITSUI ICHIHARA ENGINEERING & SHIPBUILDING and not by Bumi Armada at Keppel Shipyards in Singapore.

It is nearly 32 years old, not 25. It was registered under the name WAKABA MARU using the Bahamas flag.

In 2011 it was laid up. It is a first generation LNG tanker, meaning that it’s one of the oldest in the world.

It was then purchased by Bumi Armada of Malaysia and re-furbished at Keppel Shipyards over 17 months as part of a USD 300 million contract signed between Bumi Armada and ElectroGas Malta Limited in April 2015.

The ship should be met with a Greenpeace-style protest.

Then let’s see if Muscat’s puppeteers will force him to tell the ship to plough through a blockade, come what may.

I hope that as a minimum some enterprising journalists will shadow the vessel from when it breaches the 12 mile limit.

Given its current speed and location and assuming it maintains that pace it should arrive on Sunday at about 7am.
Is there something else we should know, such as an intentional delay to bring it in when there are potentially less people around?

I will not be surprised at all if a good number of Labour supporters are there to greet the tanker on Monday. And if Joseph tells them to jump in the sea naked, they will too.
