You can’t have a referendum on a works or services contract. An agreement is between the contracting parties. Third parties have no say in the matter and contracts of that nature can’t be annulled unilaterally by one of the parties.

However, the investments at Enemalta, mainly in the upgrading of the national grid, the BWSC plant and the interconnector, were not politically motivated but very simply the fruit of research and hard work done by the expert engineers at Enemalta (who have now been stonewalled or simply dismissed). Thanks to these engineers today we have electrical power being purchased at 5 cents a unit (thanks also to US oil engineers and technologists who developed the oil and gas fracking technology which made the USA self sufficient in oil and a net LNG exporter, causing the price of oil to crash) while Electrogas will be dumping theirs on us at 9.6 cents a unit. This Electrogas deal is called daylight robbery.

I have it they want out of Electrogas soonest and always did. Set up the thing and get some sucker to pass the buck to. This thing exists only because we have not been given the details.
