Should it not check, and act, if companies on its register do not comply with legal requirements? Even if for some technical reason immediate action is not possible, a note should explain what the real situation of the company is.

I presume the need to register a company is a legal requirement to inform the members of the public who may need the company’s services. False or inaccurate information is no help but a disservice to the public.

As a pensioner I am asked on a regular basis to confirm the information that government has on me.
