Before the referendum, Brexiteers peddled the myth that they wanted British judges to interpret British Law. Now they're fuming because British citizens are challenging their government in British courts, to prevent it from breaking the law of the land.

The latest legal challenge is to prevent May's government fom taking the UK out of the European Economic Area, and thus the Single Market, without a vote in parliament to invoke article 127 of the EEA agreement which obliges member countries to give a 12 month notice before leaving. The poorly thought-out referendum has led the UK into a legal and economic minefield.

Like Malta's Labour Party, they think that an electoral victory gives them the right to ignore the law and do as they please, and citizens have to lump it.

As it is becoming increasingly obvious that the UK is in for a shambolic Brexit which will ruin the lives of millions of Britons, more people are coming out in favour of a second referendum.

Sir John Major has joined Tony Blair and the Liberal Democrats in calling for a second referendum, so that the people can actually have a say on whether they agree with the outcome of the Brexit negotiations or not.

The problem with that, is that once Article 50 is triggered, Britain would have committed itself to leave by the end of two years. A vote at the end of those two years is bound to be of little practical value.

The UK would be out. It would have to reapply to join, and the terms of re-accession can never be as advantageous as those the UK enjoys now.
