There are uncanny similarities between Clinton and Muscat as well. Don’t assume that either candidate is a good choice for the US. There was Bernie Sanders but they failed him; now the one competing against Trump is just someone from the Clinton dynasty.

Have you, Daphne, or any of the readers, got an opinion on how this statistic came about? I have an educated circle of friends, and whilst most are able to distinguish Trump from Clinton much better than they were able to distinguish Obama from McCain in terms of policies, not many can talk in depth about the proposed policies.

Discussions seem to skim the surface of the Mexican wall and the email controversies but very little else.

In reply to L-argument. Yes, Melania Trump's speech was very similar to what we used to hear in Muscat's 2013 campaign. She told Americans to believe in her husband because he believes in them, too.

At that age they mirror their parents’ political views, so you can safely deduce that their fathers like Trump.

Their mothers will not have any opinion on the matter, because men who like Trump don’t like women with opinions about politics (or anything else).

Normally I’d say this is a good thing, but many of my friends who are freshly out of or still in university seem to have caught a bizarre affliction that has them ignoring the Maltese political scene and focusing way too much on the American one.

Coincidentally, I found the Times of Malta’s editorial stance on this, yesterday, jarring. “Smell the coffee/pusback is the only option” Muscat from 2013 didn’t sound that much different from “We’ll build a wall” Trump of 2016. But I don’t recall any equivalent editorial back then.
