Yes, I know that Malta is not a functioning democracy. I have been writing about exactly that for more than 20 years.

But I think you’ll find that even in Iceland, ‘the people’ are not going to have the power to imprison anyone. The rule of law applies in all civilised countries: people are sentenced to prison by judges and magistrates.

Separation of powers you say? You have got to be joking. The politicians are mostly part of the Freemasons at a higher level and these also control in great part of the judiciary. I do not buy the fact that Mag Peralta speaks of “no conflict of interest” being in the Freemasonry.

Separation of powers in theory and legally, but practically no.

Regarding Lowell, I only understood his truthful comment. Sometimes some truth comes in surprisingly. A dropped pearl.

1. Trump can’t convict Clinton because he does not have prosecuting powers (the police), power of judgement (judges, magistrates, jury) or sentencing (judges, magistrates).

Your inability to understand the separation of powers in a democracy leaves the rest of your argument with no bas is, and makes your respect for Norman Lowell unsurprising.

We hear so many utterances and talk about corruption under any government and when they get elected nothing happens. Why do you think that is? Remember that here in Malta only the little man goes to prison or ever pays back.
