I don’t think he paid for anything. He didn’t even have any coffee himself. He turned up so late for a meeting that was supposed to be at his office, that I went to Prego for a cup of coffee. Then he walked in and began raving with no introductions or preliminaries or niceties. It was pretty tiresome.

Musumeci seems to think that his Sicilian surname gives him a licence to pepper his conversation with supposedly Italian words and phrases only to betray his very sketchy knowledge of that language. Ciostante? Where did he get that word from? Perhaps he meant “cio’ nonostante”?
