“foreign females”: I think you mean non-Maltese women. Women in cities everywhere wear flat shoes regardless of their height or the lack of it. You literally never see anybody wearing heels. In Berlin you don’t even see any heels in the shoe-shops – even party shoes are flat, in velvet or similar.

If women are off to a party straight from the office, then they will take their shoes with heels in a bag and put them on in the taxi on the way to the party. But at the office, it’s flat shoes or very low heels. Yes, even the short women.

The make-up thing has always fascinated me (as somebody who will wear it only at gun-point). I remember it being the exception rather than the rule up to 20 years ago. Now, even teenagers and women in their 20s, whose skin is at its best, slather it all over with foundation. They’re insane. No foundation is ever going to look better than the beautiful skin of a young person. Foundation is for older women and for women of all ages with bad skin.

Village wedding? Take a look around you in Malta. All the women dress like that all the time. You are probably so accustomed to seeing women wearing full makeup on the street that you ‘blank’ it. Then you walk around on a European city street and think ‘What’s different?’

What’s different is that all the women have clean faces and are wearing walking-shoes.

Apart from the fact that the Nationalist Party has no way of hacking into Nexia BT's server (and would be breaking the law if it did), journalists obtain this kind of information before politicians do, and there is no way a political party could obtain it without a journalist doing the same. And it is the Labour Party which conceals information from the public because it considers information to be a weapon rather than a duty to the public.

Is there any truth in the persistent rumor that EGRANT has been hacked and its owner discovered to be Joseph Muscat?

And that the PN is keeping this ace card up its sleeve only to reveal it at the appropriate moment before the election?

And that Muscat knows this and is waiting for Damocles’ sword to fall on his head?

It would definitely explain why he’s totally unraveling.

Try wearing full make-up, horrid tights or stockings, and five-inch heels with pointed toes, after pulling your curly hair into a straight bob under a hot dryer.

It’s the reason I don’t do any of those things, and fortunately ever had curly hair.

The prime minister began shedding weight rapidly last spring, long before Schembri was diagnosed last month. Schembri’s diagnosis has simply compounded whatever stresses came on before that, which appear to coincide with the Panama Papers revelations.

I think his not bothering to shave for such an important press conference yesterday, showing up with at least two days’ growth, is a bigger signifier of psychological stresses than anything else. There are some men who will even shave when they’re headed to the scaffold, and I would have said he was one of them.
