I remembered that story because I had been struck by the thought of a world in which children were stolen from their parents and openly sold in markets, with Popes, priests and burgers walking past as though they were cows or chickens for sale.

In brief: these Angle children looks like the angels in heaven. This was a story told much later by the Anglo-Saxon monk Bede and is probably apocryphal because it was used as the justification for trying to take Christianity to the Angles, a very difficult endeavour.
