Muscat wasn’t a prime minister before 2013, no, but he was alive and active in politics. You could have extrapolated from that. He’d been around and very active in the Labour Party since 1992.

People are gullible and many were easily impressed by the gimmicks and the imagery and the marketing. It was all about positivity.

They managed to dupe so many people – not because we are a positive nation but because we’ve had it good for such a long time that we feel entitled to more and we are prepared to dig our head in the sand and swipe the issues under the carpet – just to keep enjoying the positive euphoria (consider ‘panem et circenses’).

And now they’ve reduced this country to one big gimmick. Għadna ma dħalniex ġol-ħajt imma b’dan il-pass, ‘l hemm sejrin. Il-fatt li tlifna 10 punti fl-indiċi tal-pajjiżi l-iżjed korrotti, diġa huwa sinjal ikraħ ħafna.

L-ebda investitur b’moħħu f’postu mhu se jkun irid jiġi f’pajjiż fejn il-korruzzjoni qed tiżdied u mhux tonqos. U meta tgħid hekk, jgħajjruk negattiv – dan kollu għax qed tkun fattwali.

Inkredibbli kif fuq din il-biċċa blata, kapaċi jkun hawn tant sriep u opportunisti li lesti jitqaħħbu u jitilfu ġieħhom għal dejjem. Wegħduna li se jkunu aħjar. Wegħduna gvern aħjar.

Qatt ma ħassejtni agħar minn hekk. U nifhmu lil David Casa meta jgħid li jistħi li hu Malti. Ma nistħix minn pajjiżi imma nistħi nħossni fl-istess keffa ma’ dawn il-ħafna li l-korruzzjoni u l-ħaxi mhuma xejn. Ħadd ma jsir miljunarju b’mod onest. (Qlibt għall-Malti għax iżjed ma nikteb, iżjed ninkazza).

“Abstained altogether” – in other words, hsilt idejk. That’s not admirable at all. People of good will take a position. Abstaining is not a position but a sign of weakness and not wise at all as it allows others to decide for you.
