Typically of Labour, they thought that because last winter was mild and gas cylinders were not in demand, this year would be the same so they thought they might as well promise not to increase the price of gas as a marketing gimmick.

I really should take care to explain myself fully when I write anything. I agree with you, and very strongly, about the questionable reasons for the price hike in Malta.

What I think sounds familiar is, “Petrol is more expensive there now then it was when the price of oil was double what it is now.” Whatever the reason, the locals are unhappy. Yes, carbon tax is a good reason but the rising prices were happening well before the introduction of the tax. And that’s what Canadians are unhappy about.

If you are telling me that the Canadian government has increase the price of petrol so as to make up for the artificial lowering of electricity bills as well as paying commissions to various people, then, yes I would say that does sound familiar.
