Fi bwiet il-poplu, indeed. Try telling that to patients who have to grovel to the Community Chest Fund for medication and services that could and should be provided through the public health sector.

But few have what it takes. Daphne Caruana Galizia is one exeption. She uses direct language and does not beat about the bush.

She does not write “the prime minister misled us” or “the prime minister did not tell the truth”. She says “the prime minister is a liar”.

This is language and a tone that the Nationalist Party fails to use. We shouldn’t even be calling the government politicians corrupt, but what they are: common thieves.
