Better check the recruitment policies being used to employ people at Project Malta’s Tigne offices. How about asking for a FULL list of employees with their fat paycheques and how they found themselves working there.

The corrupt government’s plots and strategies give me the shivers. Having for the past months kept Mizzi under wraps, they are now parading him about to dominate the first few days of the EU Council presidency.

The strategy is so obvious that it beggars belief and shows the utter contempt in which Muscat and his cronies hold the Maltese electorate.

We are being bombarded with an avalanche of press releases, statements and so on. These masters in deceit are hoping that the Panamagate fallout will be submersed in that avalanche and because of the glut, people will switch off and subconsciously feel that the whole sordid Panama affair has now been dealt with.

Meanwhile, in a parallel universe:

“The tax authorities have started 33 investigations into companies linked to the Panama Papers despite there being no cooperation from the ICIJ or even the Panamanian authorities themselves.” – Finance Minister Edward Scicluna, this morning – Malta Today.

Now, with Konrad Mizzi declaring only yesterday that the investigation into his Panama affairs has been completed and the results are about to be published, are we to understand that Mizzi’s Panama company, was the only one of 34 on which the Panama authorities cooperated?

Or is it more realistic to assume that Edward Scicluna, who has the dreaded habit of occasionally telling the truth unintentionally, telling us that Mizzi’s audit was an exercise in futility which will be used to cover up whatever Mizzi may have been involved in in Panama and New Zealand?

In reply to Michelle Pirotta. It's irrelevant whether the government is Nationalist or Labour. The Chamber of Commerce and the Royal Malta Yacht Club should NEVER be in partnership with the government. The role of the Chamber of Commerce, in particular, requires it to scrutinise the government and sometimes, to be a check on government policy which is detrimental to the interests of its members.

Unacceptable, definitely. But there you go, I would have assumed that most people behind the Chamber of Commerce and the Yacht Club would generally be pro-PN. WIth these kind of alliances, Labour is destined to hold its grip to power.
