I’m confused on one thing. Why is it in the current government’s interest to cover this up? I’d have thought they would gleefully expose their opposite numbers’ indiscretions since Labour’s part in all this seems relatively minor and easily obfuscated.

Just read The Malta Independent headlines. I am beside myself. Will this man keep on uttering lie upon lie for years on end, under both administrations, making money in the process and getting away with it? Where is our justice system, and the proverbial long arm of the law? Is it there for just young drug addicts and petty thieves?

Emphyteusis too is an outdated law or arrangement originally designed to have peasants benefit from a feudal system.

It is the mismatch in synchronicity with market value that permits and motivates this underhand corrupt dealing, whichever way one looks at it.The improvement aspect linked to emphyteusis in the first place abused of and the public good (in this case, not private) it is meant to serve and improve has gone from suspect to illegal.

Saying nothing because one hopes to benefit is no solution. It feeds the same root problem.

John Dalli appeared to enjoy the trust of his Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami until the very last day of the latter’s government in 2004, despite the suspect sell-out of Mid-Med to his friends at HSBC, besides other scandals with the Dalli-stamp.

Shouldn’t a Prime Minister act “without fear or favour” at all times?
