When we’re talking martial arts, we’re not talking about street fights but fights which take place in a ring with rules. MMA permits users to use different forms of fighting styles and choke holds within a cage/ring; but there is never a case when someone can bring out a knife.

I don’t agree with you. Capoeira is a clear example of how martial arts can be an art. The Brazilians developed Capoeira; a fighting style that incorporates dance and acrobatics. Nowadays a performance would involve two people dancing Capoeira to music. It is a fighting style and an art.

Martial arts is not an art form, but a form of physical exercise and training.
