That’s right. All the Maltese-speaking adults in my family life never said anything other than Stradarjali (one word), while the older ones as I recall said Strade Reale (but they’re all gone now). I never hear any of them say Triq Ir-Repubblika. And it took a long time before they stopped saying Kingsway (I think my mother still does).
