Those two girls on your avatar, for instance. I’ve no doubt you understand what they do to the Juventus brand. They make it desirable.

Right now, Labour might be losing its lustre. But the rival brand (the Nationalist Party) is not desirable. Pepsi isn’t what it used to be, but Coke tastes much the same.

Oh, I don’t know about that. Lots of dimwitted women among the privileged class which I disowned are still saying FOUR YEARS DOWN THE LINE AND IN A SINK PIT OF CORRUPTION – “Because ayyy, we should give them a chance and anyway the Nazzjonalisti were so corrupt maaa.”

Obviously, that’s what their husbands told the dim broads to say, because they’re creaming it off Labour.

But boy can they do narratives. Observe how they put all the elements in place: precise figures that can never be disputed (“75% of electricity” – what does that even mean?), a panel of ashen-faced civil servant nerds, or “nies teknici”, name-dropping of the Other Guy’s Fault (‘interconnector’).

Most cleverly of all, they let YOU make the final connection. The Nationalist Party would have spelled it out like the Tal-Muzew imbeciles they are, leaving themselves open to a rebuttal.

Labour doesn’t. They let you make that final connection in the narrative: therefore the interconnector is not enough; hence we need Konrad’s power station.

THIS, MY FRIENDS, IS A MASTERCLASS IN POLITICAL STRATEGY.

The Nationalist Party will lose in 2018 because it would rather have nies leali than nies bil-melh f’mohhom. Which is not to say you shouldn’t vote for it. But be prepared for the worst. Really.
