Many in the Labour camp are clearly ‘reluctant’ Europeans. They seem to be quite eager to use the EU for personal profit and self-aggrandisement, without sincerely believing in the principles upon which the EU is founded and which it espouses.

You are dead right. It’s actually quite enjoyable to watch the clips and read the reports – may as well try to salvage something from the wreckage.

These MEPs are sophisticated individuals, cool-headed, analytical, and led by a typical Northern European (in the sense that he’s not excitable and plays his cards close to his chest). They are calm and considered in their comments to the media. I’m very impressed.

Mizzi, Schembri, Tonna, Balzan and Co are very badly mistaken if they think they can do their Mafia-inspired smokescreen and red-herring stuff on them. Perhaps worth a a last shot given as they’ve no more ammo.

Yes, they’ve been outgunned. And now they’re drinking in The Last Chance Saloon. Cheers!
