In a quick damage-limiting move government is proposing to amend the law to remove the imposition of garnishee orders against journalists in libel cases, exactly what the minister and his adviser have done.

It wants to get the credit for what the Nationalist Party has proposed. It hopes that this will kill the story and Chris Cardona will remain a minister.

But this will not be the end of the story. Did Minister Cardona lie when he denied the story? This question is still unanswered.
