Bar chits mean nothing at all. They don’t have your name on them, or even your credit card details. And the likelihood that these bums paid for their own drinks in cash instead of putting them on the tab like they did in Dubai, is next to nought anyway.

All this speculation is pointless anyway, because I know for a fact that he was in the brothel. It’s not as though I’m ripping my hair out in anxiety thinking, my god, what if the information was wrong. He was there, and he’s the one ripping out what’s left of his hair, with a battery of lawyers led by that green-about-the-gills Pawlu Lia, defence lawyer to the corrupt.

Well, that’s only partly true though. Many if not most hotels allow payments on the spot as and when a bill arises. Minibar yes, normally on check-out although one can settle a bill at reception before check-out so that it doesn’t appear on the bill on check-out.

Therefore, if Chris Hardona’s proof is a line on his check-out bill which says “Restaurant dd.mm.yyyy”, it proves nothing because he could have ordered at 11:30pm, had the food delivered to his room and binned it instantly. The creation of an alibi.

It is tricky if he were to produce a bill which shows the correct date and a time between 7pm and 10:30pm, because that would place him at the hotel during that period. It’s inconclusive to me anyway, because you can request a reprint of a bill, any bill, and not necessarily his bill.

More conclusive would be a bill which shows the correct date and time, and also shows his own credit card information. That technically places him at the hotel during that period, although you can give a card to anyone.

Bottom line is that I have no doubt where he was that evening. Merely trying to imagine what his bullet-proof evidence might look like, and whether it will be fabricated after all.

His biggest problem is that he has no proof that he was not at the brothel.
