The greatest fallout from all this sleaze and corruption is the message that doing wrong does not bring with it the opprobrium it deserves. So anything goes, no matter how bad. If a minister can do it so can I.

A whole generation has been ruined by the lasciviousness, greed and cronyism of quite a number of members of “the best ever government in Europe”.
Who will save the aforementioned generation?
The opposition, the church and the myriad of youth and adult groups plus, all right thinking parents, have a great responsibility to put a stop to this ruination.

Michael Farrugia makes an important point, though. He alludes to that inner sense of patriotism that makes the heart of every Maltese man and woman beat: the pride of the Maltese pastizz.

In fact, this week there’s been a procession of Maltese leaders, from both sides of the political aisle, who rose in defence of the poor thing, some of them insisting on being pictured in the company of a pastizz. In fact it looks like nothing unites this nation more than a pastizz.

The only one who seems to be embarrassed of his fatal attraction to the pastizz is Chris HardOnA, who, in an act of betrayal to his constitutional role in promoting the Maltese economy, preferred to procure his pastizzi with a direct order at an FKK Acapulco outlet in Germany rather than at the more competitive Serkin in Rabat.
