The middle aged are getting complacent, maybe because of the old school fear or they are content with their slice of cake thus far and don’t wish to rock that boat.

Some are also concerned to even write a comment, let alone be visible enough to stand out in a crowd. The days of persecution are unfortunately still here. If they are not visible they still unfortunately exist.

I attended the Sunday gathering in support of democracy but mainly in support of the author of this site. I know many attending had the same opinion as mine, when asked.

Just despondent after years of abuse.

Not like you to be so fatuous. Those few individuals are not representative of the whole, are they.

The middle-aged people don’t care either. Who’s selling passports and building skyscrapers? It’s not the youth.

Youngsters are now living in some kind of twisted Kardashian reality TV show, where bling overrides common decency and what was once known as important issues are pretty much forgotten. Our ancestors fought for it as we did, but today, the kids don’t care anymore. The extra oomph has gone.

Some months before the 2013 election, I found myself at Footloose, or it might have been Seven blankets wotsits, or that Black Bull thing. I forget the names, and they change fast. Anyway, it was a big club in Paceville, twenty Maltese johnnies per square inch, five foot nothing, and none older than twenty. All drinking hard and clubbing hard. At 3 am, there was a power cut, and the club was plunged into pitch darkness.

Spud quickly took the initiative, and suggested we start the chant of “Viva l-Lejber, hej hej “. Just to test the effect. He claimed the whole club would join in. We started softly, and then increased the volume. And it worked. In the space of thirty seconds the entire club was shaking to the thunderous chorus. At each second “hej”, the caps were flying off the bottles of Absolut (the cheap stuff).

The Counter-Labour Movement needs a chant. Invent one. Fast. Or you’re doomed.

Just wanted to clarify, for those who didn’t know, the nature of this political gathering. I wasn’t being defensive at all. You know how much we love you.
